Museum & Beach

Even though the weather wasn't the greatest we had to go and play at the beach for a bit. This was Azlyn's first time to a beach and Mathias has not been since he was about the age that Azlyn is now.  They were both fascinated by the ocean.

Azlyn didn't love the sand at first but then quickly got used to it.

Mathias loved running away from the waves and covering himself with wet sand. This kid was covered from head to toe by the time we were ready to go home.

Azlyn liked to look at the ocean from a distance but once you got her close to it she would freak out. It was kinda funny to watch.

Azlyn was pretty content to just sit on the towel and play in the sand. She would try to fill the back of the truck up but kept dumping it before she could even get the sand in it then she moved on to filling the bucket up. That proved to be easier.

Mathias and Devin digging in the sand. It was a pretty big drop off  before you reached the ocean.

Mathias loved playing at the beach. He could have probably stayed there all day if we would have let him. However it started raining and we were going to a museum later as well.

Azlyn loved this chair that was just her size. Thanks to Rick and Melissa and Audrey for letting us use all their toys and stuff.

Man I love this little girl's cheeser face!

The kids playing together nicely. This doesn't happen to often so I had to get pictures of it!

Rick and Melissa and Audrey joined us a bit later.  Here are Rick and Devin flying a kite.

Mathias loved having Audrey there to play with. She was the only one that would go in the ocean with him.

Mathias and Audrey gotten taken out by a wave. I know this is really mean to say but it was pretty funny to watch!

Here is some proof that I was there as well. I have to say I didn't love being at the beach except to watch the kids have fun. The smell was making me really sick. Apparently being pregnant and the smell of the salt water don't mix too well for me.

After getting cleaned up we headed to the California Science Center with the Brower family and Annette. Mathias loved seeing the jets hanging in the ceiling and playing in the clouds.

You talk in one end of the long round tube and listen out the other. The kids liked this. Then Dev is listening to pipes. Each length makes a slightly different noise.

We all had fun in this heat picture thing. It was raining when we got there so that is what all the cold blue is on us.

Azlyn playing with the earthquake house and checking out the big turtle.

Azlyn loved these chicks! She didn't want to leave them!

They had this cool display of fetuses at all different stages. I had to take a picture of where we are at know in this pregnancy.

Mathias liked making this thing make snow.

Mathias and Audrey stopped for a quick photo op on the snowmobile.

Mathias, Audrey and Devin enjoyed playing in the sand and water and making paths and such with it. Dev played goalie for a minute with this game were it would just use your motion to play it. Azlyn and Mathias enjoyed playing music for a bit.

Mathias and Audrey had fun building this house. They played here until we got kicked out because they were closing.

All the guys like playing with sail boats. Devin did a little fishing. It was pretty fun to go through the museum. It is something that we have never done with the kids before.

I had to get this picture of these cute cousins hanging out together while the adults decided what to do next. They are so much alike and have such a fun time playing together. Wish we got to see them more often.

california adventure and disneyland

Today we started the day off at California Adventures. The first ride we did was Soarin' Over California . Devin went with Mathias and then came back so I could go with him.  Mathias loved that ride and thought it was so much fun that it was like you were really flying over places.

Azlyn and I had some awesome entertainment while we waited for Mathias and Devin to get off of Grizzly River Run.

I went on the Golden Zephyr with Mathias and my mother-in-law. Rides like this make Devin sick so I got to go with Mat.

I was looking forward to the ride  The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel's Undersea Adventure because I thought that Azlyn would love it. She has an Ariel doll that she just loves. She was a little nervous at first but once Dev put her on his lap she was alright (bonus - it's air-conditioned!).

Mickey's Fun Wheel was pretty interesting. We opted to go on the seats that swing around like crazy. It took us all off guard when it first did. We just didn't expect it when it first started. I have to admit I was not a fan of it. I am not a huge fan of heights and to be swinging around like that.

Of course we had to get a quick pic of Mathias in the Toy Story Box.  So fun.

Toy Story Mania another one that we could all go on. It was really fun. If the line wasn't so long I think we would have done it again. Audrey shared her cotton candy with Azlyn while we waited in line. It was the first time she had some and of course she loved it.

Rick, Melissa, Audrey and Mathias on another carousel.  Not sure why we weren't on it with them. I think we were doing bathroom breaks or something.

I was excited to see these because I knew Mathias would LOVE them and he did. He was so excited to go up to them and see them up close.

This was the It's Tough to Be a Bug Show. I thought it was pretty cool. I love how they had where it was pretty interactive to where you get misted with water, they make it so you actually smell stuff and make it feel like bugs are really crawling under you. I think it surprised and kinda scared the kids when it did that but they were alright.

Here we all were on Heimlich's Chew Chew Train. It was pretty cute. Azlyn liked it.

Tuck and Roll's Drive 'Em Buggies. Mathias was pretty excited to do this. Azlyn was pretty bummed that she couldn't go on.

Mathias had a blast getting soaked at Princess Dot Puddle Park. Dev Didn't want him to get super wet but I figuered why the heck not. He was having a blast.

Here are the cute kiddos waiting for the Turtle Talk with Crush Show. This was really cute but unfortunately I had to walk out with Azlyn because she wouldn't sit still then she got pretty upset that we walked out and couldn't go back in.

Pretty cute ride. Love Azlyn's face in the pictures.

Of course we had to get a picture in front of the castle.

Of course we/they did a bunch of other rides too but these are just the ones I got pictures of. Mathias was tall enough to go on all of them even though he ended up not liking some like the tower of terror. We did run back over to the other park though and he got to ride his favorite ride a bunch of times again. While we waited Azlyn fell asleep. She really was such a good sport for being off of her schedule so much. After Mathias rode the train a few times we rushed back over to watch the World Of Color show but unfortunately we were a bit late and got really crappy seats and couldn't really see anything. I was so bummed. What we could see though looked really cool . Azlyn slept through it all which was amazing because it was super loud.
It was a really fun trip but I want to go back when I am not pregnant and just take Mathias or wait until Azlyn is a bit bigger and older so we can do more things.

22 weeks w/baby #3

How far Along: 22 weeks
Symptoms: I am starting to get some pain in my right side in my back just above my hip.  It happens mostly when I roll over or am getting up from sitting or laying down
Maternity clothes: I am in that awkward stage of my pants are getting a bit snug and I don't want to stretch out my shirts but maternity clothes are still pretty big. In this pic I am wearing my normal pants and a shade shirt. I love their shirts because they are long and stretchy. I wore this shirt all the way through with Azlyn. In fact, it is the shirt I wore to my baby shower when I was around 36 weeks or so.
Gender: We found out at 16 weeks that it is a boy. I am completely impatient and have found out early with each pregnancy.
Total Weight Gain: 7 lbs or so I think. I can't remember since I haven't weighed myself for a bit.
Cravings:   Sweets.
Movement: Yup. He seems to move a lot at night. Maybe I just notice it more then since I am actually sitting still.
Best moments from the last couple of  weeks:We went on our first big family vacation to California. Devin finally got to feel the baby move at 21 weeks! Last night you could actually see my belly move!

Sea World

I am horrible at picking just a few pictures so this post is going to be mainly a million pictures with a few captions. Today was our Sea World day. We decided once the day was over that we would probably not do Sea World again if we do another California vacation. It is fun but basically a really overpriced zoo with a few fun animal shows thrown in the mix. The shows are basically the only reason to go there.

We started off the day with the seal lion and otter show. They were still doing dress rehearsals with the animals in preparation for the Halloween season. They still had some bugs to work out, but it was really cute and they ended with doing the thriller dance with the animals. Azlyn loved it but Mathias didn't really seem to care too much.

Here are some pictures from that show.

Checking out some animals on our way to another show. We decided to hurry and get all the shows in and then we would go and see the animal exhibits.

Our next stop was the Shamu show. When we went to go get Azlyn out of her seat we noticed that she had a blowout in her white capris! We did not have any extra clothes with us because she hasn't had a blow out since she was a tiny baby. So we got to be white trash and let Azlyn run around in just a shirt and her diaper. What do you do. Mathias decided he was starving so we got some lunch for him and he ate while we waited for the show to start. Azlyn decided she was hungry to so she shared his chips with him. This surprised me because his chips were the firery cheetos that she ended up loving! That girl will eat just about anything I swear! You gotta love their cheetos faces.

Both kids seemed to enjoy this show a bit more. It is amazing to me what they can get these big animals to do. Kinda sad that the trainers can't get in the water with them anymore but still a great show.

Next was the Dolphin show. I think this was one of my favorites. They did the dolphin show which was amazing but then they did a whole other show after it.

They ended the show with this amazing acrobatic, diving, bird themed show. It was really cool.

Our last show was at the pets stadium. They had a show with a ton of different animals like cats, dogs, pigs, kangaroos. etc. A lot of them were rescued from shelters and trained. It was a pretty funny and cute show. Don't mind us trying to get a family picture, it was really bright out. But it was absolutely perfect weather!

Finally we were able to just walk around and check out some of the animals. Here we are in the shark encounter. Azlyn loved pointing out the "fishies". Mathias was harder to get pictures of because he would run from one thing to the next.

Here we are in the shark tunnel. It was pretty cool and both kids seemed to like it.

Here we are at the penguin encounter. There were a ton of them in there and I think both kids liked watching them. Sea World is  super smart, by they way, with their gift stores. They have one at the exit of every animal exhibit. Very smart of them to put them where you can't really avoid them. Azlyn had to give all of the stuffed animals a snuggle but did really well when we told her to put them back. Here are a few pictures of her checking out the penguin stuffed animals.

Here we are in the Wild Arctic. We probably spent the most time in here. The kiddos both loved looking at the animals through the glass under the water.

Here are a few pictures of Mathias checking things out. It is truly hard to get pictures of him because he just does not sit still for long but I managed to get a few.

Azlyn would just sit and stare at the animals through the glass for a while so she was easier to get pics of.  Don't mind the fact that she looks a bit white trash with no pants or shoes on. She doesn't have pants on for the reason I stated earlier and every time she was in her stroller she would take off her sandals, so we just gave up that fight and let her run around the exhibits barefoot. Also she missed her nap so she drug her blanket around a lot and just snuggled it. Thank heavens we stayed in a place that had a washing machine!

I can't remember what this guy was called, I think it was a beluga whale, but he sure was kinda funny looking.

Once again she had to "nuggle" the stuffed animals. I love that she puts everything that she "nuggles" up on her shoulders. So cute!

Here are the kids in the Turtle Reef. Both kids were fascinated by all the turtles and fish. There were some really big turtles in there that Mathias thought were pretty cool. Azlyn just loved to point out all the "fishies" again.

At the end of everything we let the kids pick out a souvenir.  I grabbed 4 or 5 different stuffed animals for Azlyn to choose from and she ended up picking out this cute penguin. Mathias couldn't ever decide what he wanted then said that he really didn't want anything.

To finish of the day we went on the Skytower. This was pretty fun except that Azlyn really wanted to stand while on it and they had a strict rule of no standing. It was fun trying to keep her on my lap the whole time... Then we headed over to the sesame street area and Mathias and Devin made it on one ride before the park closed.  All in all it was a pretty fun day with a few bumps along the way.

About halfway through the day we noticed that Azlyn had gotten some sun so we tried to keep her out of it from then on as much as possible. We didn't realize how much  sun she got though till we got back to the house. Poor girl!
