about time

(can you tell he was excited to be getting his picture taken?)

Dev has had the same pair of glasses for TEN YEARS! For the past year or so he has had a huge scratch across one of the lenses. We finally decided it was time to upgrade his lens prescription as well as get some new frames. I was kinda surprised with the ones he chose, not that I am complaining. They seem to be a little more trendy to me and he is not the trendy type of guy. Anyway I am so happy for him to finally have an up-to-date pair of glasses. Isn't he just so cute!

gotta take a moment to brag...

It is the little things like getting a note from Mathias' preschool teacher that just make my day! I am so happy that Mathias LOVES going to preschool and that he is doing so well in it!

28 weeks

This past week has been pretty miserable! Both Mathias and I have had super bad colds. Can I just say that being pregnant and having a cold just sucks? Our little lady sits on my bladder enough as it is, then add coughing all the dang time and I pretty much feel like I am gonna pee my pants 24/7. Not to mention the sore ribs, as if baby growing and pushing them out a bit was not enough they are now super sore from coughing so much. And poor Mathias. I just hate when he is sick. I feel so helpless for the poor kiddo. One a more positive note, I have gotten a ton of snuggles from him. I just love that he is so snuggly! Hopefully we are on the mend. I am sure sick of being sick and I am sure Dev is sick of it as well. Poor guy has had to do everything around the house this week. Oh, also another not-so-fun thing that has been going on this week is that I for some reason can not fall asleep. One night I didn't fall asleep till 3 then woke up at 6 with a cough attack. The next night was slightly better with me falling asleep at two. It is like my body is already preparing for the babe. I can't seem to sleep at night but from like 8 am to about 12 I can sleep great (poor Mathias has been on his own and watching a ton of TV this week). Hopefully this does not last long. It amazes me how different this pregnancy is compared with the last one. With Mathias I never had any problem sleeping. Anyways, I just wanted to document this more for my sake than anything so sorry if it seems like I am venting a ton. Here's to hoping that next week will be better!

I know I say this every week but I can not believe how huge I am or that I still have 12 more weeks of growing. I need to find a picture from last time to compare but I am pretty sure I was this big when I was 9 months along . It should be interesting to see how much bigger I can get!

Crib Bedding

Alright, now that we are more than half way it is starting to sink in that we are really having a baby, and a little lady at that. So now the fun begins to start preparing for her arrival. I have been looking at bedding for a while now, and these are the ones that I have come across that I like so far. I am all about bedding that is not sooo babyish and something that can kinda grow with them. The only problem is I am having a hard time deciding on my own so I want to know what you all think. Keep in mind our crib is black and it is the last picture on here. Let me know what you think! Also if you know of anywhere else that sells cute bedding let me know. Thanks!!

27 weeks

Here we are at 27 weeks. I am feeling gigantic and can't believe that I still have 13 weeks of growing. On the plus side I am only up about 7 pounds. Things are going pretty good. My back has been pretty sore lately and I still have heartburn all the time but I can't really complain too much. Another plus is that we are now into the third trimester, which means we are rounding into the home stretch!

Ice skating

So its seems that going ice skating while Rick and Melissa are in town is a new tradition.
I have been wanting to go ice skating for while now and am so excited we finally got the chance.

Mathias was so excited to get on the ice and was pretty impatient while everyone else was getting their skates on. Mathias' skates that he had on have been passed down from his cousins Payden and Mitchell. Just to show you how big Mathias is, Payden whore these skates when he was 6 and Mathias is not quite 4 yet. They were a little big, but not much. Poor thing though, we forgot to bring some longer socks and the ones he had on were some ankle high ones, then we found out the next day that the skates where cutting into his ankles. He never really complained. He would take a couple of breaks but then get right back to skating. Mathias did pretty good. He always wanted to hold someones hand this time though and didn't really want to try it on his own. I guess we should probably go more than once a year, especially since he and Dev really want him to play hockey one day.

Here are a few shots of some of the fam that was there.
In the top left corner are Morgan and Courtney, then in the top right we have Melissa, Audrey, and Rick. In the bottom left we have Holland, Camryn, Melanie, Mathias, Dev, and Mitchell, and then in the bottom right is Payden.

And just because he is so cute and I take a million pictures, here are a few fun ones of Mathias by himself.

26 weeks 5 days and a Sunbeam!

So I was not going to post these pictures because they are so close to the week 27 ones but I just had to for two reasons.

1) These are the only pictures I have of Mathias on his first day of Primary.

This was Sunday was the first time Mathias went to Primary. I can't believe that my little guy is a Sunbeam! He really did not want to go to primary, he wanted to go to Nursery and play with the toys. I figured it would be hard for a couple of reasons. One, we don't take him to church that often, if at all, during the winter because he gets sick so easily or because he is already sick, so when he does go it is like a treat for him. And two, this kid has a very hard time sitting still for very long. He just loves to play a ton. After about 20 minutes of him crying and us doing everything we could to talk him into i,t he finally went in with Devin. His one stipulation was that he had to sit by all the girls. Halfway through sharing time he turned to Devin and complained that he was only sitting by one girl! He is already a ladies man.... we are in some serious trouble with this little one! He ended up liking it and I think that next week it will be a bit easier.

2) I just love this picture of Mathias kissing my belly. He loves to give his little sister hugs and kisses lately. I am just loving this!

New Year's Eve

We spent New Year's Eve at the Brower house with the whole family. We had an awesome dinner of tacos and nachos. Dinner was just perfect since one of the things that I have been eating a lot of this pregnancy is nachos. After dinner the adults played a couple of board games while the little ones watched movies and played with a marble run. We decided to celebrate with the kids at around 10 PM . Unfortunately this is the only time I had my camera out. The kids had so much fun with the noise makers and the things that shot confetti everywhere. Soon after, Mathias ran out of steam and it was time to go home. None of us made it till midnight this time around. Man, that makes me feel old.

I am so glad that 2009 is over. It was definitely a hard year for us. Hopefully next year will prove to be better!
