They had a different theme for everyday of the last week of school. Today was crazy hair day. I took Mathias to the party store and let him pick out whatever color he wanted to spray in his hair. He picked neon yellow. He then decided he wanted to do his hair all spiky. When we sprayed his hair the color turned out to be a bit more on the neon green side. Still crazy cool though. He thought it was awesome!

Preschool Graduation
Mathias has gone to Kids Village for the past two years and today is his graduation! He loves this school and is kinda upset that he will be going to a new school next year. I just have to brag about this school for a minute because it is absolutely amazing! It is not only a preschool but also a private school that goes up to 6th grade. Mathias would go to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Each day they rotate through a couple of classrooms. The different classes that he would go to are: Science room, computer room, kitchen (they would make something every week that would start with the letter that they learned that week and they also learned about nutrition), art room, music room, as well as his normal class room. He always is talking about what he learned in school. He loves to talk about the planets and also how trees and plants and things grow. He is constantly telling us about beats and rhythms and such that he learned in music class. It has been so much fun for us to see him learning so much and soaking it all in! Anyways, here are a few pictures of his school. I forgot to get pictures of a couple of the rooms and such but you can get the general idea. If you click on the picture you can see a couple of the classrooms a bit better. Also his normal classroom is behind the big tree house.
Isn't he adorable! They are just coming out of the music room to line up on stage.
They sang a bunch of super-cute songs. Mathias didn't sing super loud this time but did awesome on all of the actions. I will try to get a post up of videos of all of the songs.
Azlyn and Grandma Brower watching. Azlyn loved all the songs.
Mathias getting his diploma from his teacher, Ms. Rebecca.
I can't believe that my baby is done with Preschool and is going to Kindergarten in just a few short months!
Mathias and His girlfriend Maggie. He has been in love with her all year long. He tells me that he loves her and that he wants to marry her when he gets older. She missed the deadline by 2 weeks and has to go back to preschool. He is super bummed that she is not going to his new school with him.
Our family with our cute little graduate.
Mathias was pretty excited to give his teacher this vase that I made with the pretty flowers. She loved it and thought the vase was pretty cool.
I seriously can not believe how big my little boy is getting. It is so weird to me that I will have a kid in elementary school in just a few short months!

Moab, take two
Mathias and I were invited to a Man Trip to Moab by our good friend Rob Bigelow. I said I would go on one condition: find a spot on a trailer for my jeep cuz I'm not driving it down. Rob came through and fit my jeep, as well as his, on a big trailer and towed them down. We met up with a bunch of his brothers, brothers-in-law, their kids, and Rob's dad. There was a total of seven jeeps, one stock Nissan truck, and a rental jeep. The brother-in-law with the Nissan drove all the way [I believe] from Virginia. Mathias had fun because there were tons of kids to play with all the time.
We had an absolute blast. The first trail was Elephant Hill. That was my first time on this trail and wasn't sure what to expect. I was told it was doable by mostly stock SUVs so I wasn't too worried, but I knew there were some tight switchbacks along some cliffs; I don't like cliffs. I aired down the tires really low and went at it, not bothering to lock the front hubs in. It turned out I never had to; I ran the whole trail in 2WD. The other rigs did just fine too, except we did have to do some rock-stacking for the Nissan.
The next day we ran Poison Spider Mesa, a well-known and well-loved trail. We ran up to the wedge and back. I was starting to get a little cocky with my still newish tire/rim combo (37's and beadlocks) and did a couple things I normally wouldn't have. Everything turned out awesome, giving me some confidence in my jeep. If I could get a full cage, stretch the wheel-base some, and get stronger front axle shafts I'd really be loving my jeep.
The last day we ran Moab Rim. Again, great fun and everything went swimmingly. When we finished that trail, we packed up everyone's junk and headed home. It was a great weekend. Ran some great trails, made some great friends, and no one broke anything of consequence. Rob had some little plastic doohickey break in his steering column so he couldn't run the Rim, but other than that no one had any problems. I really hope they invite me next time they go. I think I might be welcome next time, not because I'm fun to have around but because I can run air tools on the trail.

Mathias says
This is what Mathias told me on the way to dropping him off to preschool today.
"Mom, I want to draw a picture of a flower with me and Maggie on it then put butterfly stickers around it and then cut it out and put it in an envelope and take it to school and give it to Maggie because I love her!"
Already a little romantic! Maybe he can give his dad a few lessons.....

Preschool Graduation Pictures
Mathias' preschool had graduation pictures taken a little bit ago and we got them back today. I can't believe how big Mathias looks in his cap and gown. When did he get so big?!
Here is his class. In case you were wondering, his girlfriend, Maggie, is in the second row right by Miss Rebecca. She has been his girlfriend since last year.

Thanksgiving Point Farm Country
Mathias did well at his 5 yr check up so I told him that I would get him a surprise. I didn't tell him what we were doing until we were almost there. We went to Thanksgiving Point Farm Country. It was such a nice day and there were supposed to be lots of baby animals so I thought it would be fun.
When you walk inside they have a little store as well as a place that shows you how milk is produced and sold. Then in the back they have baby chicks that you can look at and buy. Azlyn loved them. She loves animals and I couldn't wait to see how she would react to the rest.
The horses were the first things we saw. Azlyn was fascinated. She kept making the funniest noises. I have to admit the baby horses were super cute.
Mathias in jail. I told him if he doesn't shape up this is where he is going to end up. ;)
We stopped and fed the ducks for a while. Azlyn loved this.
The pigs loved Azlyn. They came right up to her. She even touched one's nose. I tried really hard not to be too grossed out by it.
Mathias seriously loves his little sister. He was so excited by her reaction to the animals.
The kids checking out the big horse. I don't have too many pictures of Mathias checking out the animals because he would run from one to the next and back again. Azlyn wanted to stay at each one for a while.
Mathias was a little scared to ride a pony by himself at first but then got over it and couldn't get on one fast enough. He really like it.
Checking out and petting the goats. Again trying not to be too grossed out at them touching them, then I saw Azlyn put her mouth on the fence. I seriously just about lost it. Talk about gross!
I have a picture of Mathias on this sheep when he was just over 2 years old so of course I had to get a picture of both of them on it even though they have it fenced off this time.
Mathias loved this little farm play area. You get to learn all about bugs and which ones are good and bad for plants. You also get to learn about planting things and such. It was pretty cool.
We ended the day with a quick horse-drawn carriage ride. I think both of the kiddos had a blast and I think we will for sure have to go back this summer.

grass, car seat, and park
I just thought Azlyn was super cute today in her cute new dress and I wanted to take a few pictures of her outside before we went to pick Mathias up from school.
She was not so sure of the grass though and kept one leg up . Then she would ever-so-carefully lay her hands flat on the grass then quickly lift them up again. She did this a few times. It was pretty entertaining to watch.
She then found the flowers and wanted to play with them but she wasn't so sure about touching them either. I love the pic with her tongue out. Can you tell she is teething? She is kinda munching on her gums and rubbing them together in a few of the pictures like the big one above.
I tried to get a few in front of a tree but by this point she had made up her mind that she doesn't like the grass. I love the transition of pictures that show her "I am not so sure about" this face to the "ok I'm done" face.
After a few pictures it was time to go pick Mathias up from school. This was her first time riding in her big-girl car seat. It kinda floors me that she is about 13 months and she is just now graduating to this seat. Mathias moved to this seat when he was 5 or 6 months old. She still weighs less than he did when he was 6 months old.
After picking Mathias up from school we went to the park to enjoy the beautiful day. Azlyn loved playing in the wood chips and would just rub her hands back and forth in them and pick them up and drop them over and over again. She also loves the slides and would get upset when you left them. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of Mathias at the park because he was to busy running around and playing with the other kids.
