Strawberry Days Rodeo

We went to the rodeo the day after the kid walk with the same group of friends. It was so much fun and the first time Dev had been to a rodeo.

This is the first time Mathias let Dev put him on his shoulders and actually stayed there. Every other time Mathias would try to get down. Yippee for this milestone, cuz it sure gives your arms a break!

Here we are with our friends waiting for the rodeo to start. We did not end up sticking around for the whole thing because it actually started when Mathias usually goes to bed, and he got really restless and did not want to sit still for more than a minute at a time.

My two very handsome boys!
Mathias has had this thing with having his hand in his mouth lately. Not sure what this is all about because I think he has all of his teeth already. Maybe he is getting his two year molars in?

This is the cash cow. They let a cow run wild with a blanket or something strapped on it that has money attached to it and all the kids chase after it trying to get the money. It was pretty funny to watch.

Mathias watching all the horses, sheep and cows. He was pretty interested in it when we reminded him to watch what was going on.

More rodeo pics. I thought this was a pretty good picture right as the guy was getting bucked off.

Mathias made sure to show us all of the horses. Like I said before, Mathias loves horses.

And getting close and personal with the cows as we were walking out to leave for the night. It was pretty fun and maybe next year we will get to see the whole thing.

Strawberry Days

Last week was Strawberry Days and our friends Rob and Stephanie Bigelow invited us to walk in the kids parade with them. We met them over at their house and then walked to where they were starting the parade. It's not really a parade, but all the wards in the area get together with all the little kids and walk a couple of blocks. In the end they give everyone a popsicle and some coupons, and the kids get their hand stamped to get in free to the rodeo that night.

Here is a shot of most of the people that were there waiting for the kid walk to begin. As you can see, there where a ton of people there.

Dev and Mathias patiently waiting for the walk to begin. It was supposed to start at 5. Whoever decided to start the race at that time in the summer was not really thinking. It was way HOT.

In our friend's ward, they had a little game throughout the parade. In Sunday School they were given a piece of paper with some pictures of pioneers on it. Throughout the parade they had to find the pioneers and cross them off their list. This is our friend's son Brycen as one of the pioneers.

Here is a quick shot of some of our friends walking the race with us.

Mathias loves horses. He was trying so hard to get the horse to come over to him. He would say "come here horsey horsey " and hold his hand out. It was very cute to watch.

Enjoying the nice cold popsicle after the hot walk. This is the first time we have dared to give Mathias his own popsicle to hold all by himself. He actually stayed quite clean, I was very surprised.

Then after dinner we went back over to the Bigelow's to play with their pigs that they just got. We figured we would strip Mathias down and let him get dirty playing with the animals. Here he is trying to get close to one of them.

However he was actually a little bit scared of them and kept his distance.

He chased the ducks around but still did not get too close to them. He kept looking at us like "are you really letting me do this?"

When he would chase after the pigs he made sure not to get in the mud. We kept trying to reassure him that is was ok to get dirty but he still would not. So I asked Dev to go stick him in the mud to see what he would do. Dev first put a little mud on his hands and Mathias looked at him like he was crazy. Then Dev picked him up to set him in the mud puddle and Mathias quickly curled up his legs. This was pretty funny to watch. When Dev finally put him in the mud Mathias started crying, like full blown crying. I was laughing so hard I could not help myself. What little boy does not like mud? Apparently Mathias doesn't. On the way out of the pig pen Dev put a muddy hand print on Mathias' back. I will never forget how upset Mathias was to get muddy, it was just too funny to watch!

After we got all cleaned up, we went over to my sister-in-law's to help them out. They had cleaned out their garage and shed and asked the Bigelows if they could use their dump truck to haul it away. The Bigelows own some dump trucks and a tractor and yes there was enough stuff to fill the dump truck completely. Here is Mathias with daddy in the tractor. He does not trust anybody else to go in there with him except for his daddy even if it is not going. Guess that says a lot for how much he trusts his daddy.

Of course Mathias quickly found all the buttons and handles. What a true little boy. Except for the mud. All in all it was a very busy, very fun filled day and Mathias slept like a rock when it was all over.

Cohen turns 1!

Our friends Candice and Dallas' little boy Cohen turned one over the weekend and they invited us to his birthday party. There were a ton of people there.

Here is a great pic of Mathias, as you can see he is not very excited that Cohen gets to open all of those presents and he does not get to "help".

Here is a the cute little family opening up the presents with Mathias sitting close by. It was pretty funny to watch Cohen open up presents. After he would open one he would just want to play with that one and had no interest in opening the others.

If anyone thinks Mathias is way spoiled check out this kids haul, and that isn't including the 5 or 6 outfits that he got.

They got Cohen his very won little cake to dig into and man did he dig into it. I think he ate the whole thing and what he did not eat was what was all over him. After cake it was time for a quick bath and a new outfit.

Here is Cohen playing with the little squishy bus we got him (I get every one year old one of these, kind of turned into a tradition I guess. Good thing we all have had little boys around the same age.) and wearing the shirt we also got him. I love Target, they have super cute cheap boy clothes.

I love this picture of the boys playing at the sliding window. Definitely one of my fav pictures.

I absolutely love this picture of Cohen. It turned out so cute and I was lucky to get it.

"What axle is that under there, dad?"
Starting young, Dev should be proud!

And of course the boys doing what the boys always end up doing and Mathias joining in the fun.
We had a blast you guys, thanks for inviting us!

4 years already

All because two people fell in love.

Look how stinking HANDSOME my husband is! June 17 was our 4 year anniversary. I know I am a bit late getting this up but life has been a little crazy. These past 4 years have had their ups and downs but I would not change any of it. I have the most wonderful husband ever who tries to do everything he can for his family. These past 4 years have just flown by and I can hardly wait to see what the future holds for us. I found some random pictures from our engagement and our wedding so I hope you enjoy.

Still completely in love! The one thing I love about Devin is he makes sure to kiss me and give me a hug every single day. On the way to work and when he gets home. Not a day goes by with out it. I love that!

He still always keeps me laughing. Either by saying something or just being a complete dork or watching him play with Mathias. There is always laughter in our house and I think that is important.

Look how young we looked - that was only four years ago.

Anyone who knows us knows we are pretty big into jeeping. I had a friend of Dev's (Dallas) sneak Dev's jeep so we could take these pictures during my bridals and surprise him with it on our wedding day. Devin figured out what was going on so he wasn't surprised; but hey, I tried. The jeep is also pretty special to us - well me, because that is where he proposed to me.

The infamous temple wedding picture. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect. It threatened to rain a little bit but didn't, and thanks to the clouds it was not 100* out. We had the best guy perform our sealing, I will always remember and cherish that. He sat down right in front of us and counseled us on many things, it lasted over an hour! Dev's mom works in the temple, often as an escort, and has never seen a sealing take so long. I feel so grateful that we were able to get married in the temple and receive the many blessings from it.

I just love this picture!

My gosh, he is just so stinking cute! I just get twitterpated when I look at these pictures.

Just another fun random picture that I like. I have not seen our wedding pictures in a while and it was fun to go through them again.

Devin, I love you so much and am glad that we will be together for eternity. You are the best husband and father that I could ever ask for. We all have our moments and nothing or nobody is perfect, but you sure do come pretty darn close. Here is to four years and many more to come.

And I just thought this was a funny picture. We knew our car was going to get trashed (didn't think it would be to that extent though) because I trashed my moms when she got married to Ernie. However, knowing this we had an extra car waiting for us and our [really] good friends offered to clean this mess up. Too funny.

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!

little photo shoot

A few months ago, while at the Baby Day Expo, we had a little photo shoot. They were having a cutest baby contest so there where a million kids. We got in line and stood around for a while until it was our turn. The photographer took tons of pics, of which we were allowed to pick one that we could have for free. For a price, we could get all of them on a cd, which we did. We finally got our cd of our pics about a month ago but I am just a bit slow getting them up here. These are my favorite of the bunch. I am honestly surprised we got any at all. It was beyond Mathias' nap time and he was hungry by the time it was our turn to take pictures. For the first little while he would not let me put him down which is where we got all the cute closeup head shots. He then warmed up a bit but wanted to just run around. I love the one of him laying down resting on his arm, he was copying the photographer because that is how he was laying when he was taking the pictures. Anyways I just wanted to post these pictures even if they are way late, I really like them.

Canyon outing

It was such a nice day today that we decided to go up to the canyon. We first stopped at Canyon View Park and played and hung out there awhile.

We only played on the playground for a minute because...

we found all the sand and rocks to play with in the volleyball court.

We then headed over to Timpanogos Park and walked over this bridge on the way over. Mathias loved all the water and tried to point out all the fish. By "tried" I mean that there were no fish to be found. But Devin found a Mt. Dew bottle...

Mema meet us at the park and tried to help Mathias find some fish.

I just love how he has his hands on his knees while looking into the water.

Mathias found this great little resting place to stop and take a breather. However, he refused to look at me for pictures. Stinker!

Mathias' new discovery are bugs. Mostly ants and spiders, but he finds the occasional potato bug. He loves to get his face right up to them and follow them wherever they go.

We also stopped and played in this big pile of rocks 3 or 4 different times. He loves to pick them up and show them all to us and then precede to throw them.

He then found this great hill to run up. It is a bit steeper than it looks I promise. When he got to the top, he tried to run down it as fast as he could. I think my heart jumped out of my chest when I saw this. I ran up there hoping to get him before he would fall, I just knew he was gonna go down face first. I got there just in time; well, almost in time. His knees hit the ground as I caught him. He only cried for half second because a big truck and trailer passed us and caught his attention. I wanted to cry though! I think it shook me up more than it did Mathias!

So we continued to play for a little while longer. I guess his knees were not bugging him that much. However he had this weird thing about keeping them covered. I guess it was an "out of sight, out of mind" thing.

On the way home we stopped at the store and got some "fun" bandaids for his poor little knees. I am glad we got the kid ones because that was the only way we convinced him to keep them on because they had Scooby Doo and Sponge Bob on them.

This is the first of many scrapped knees, I am sure, but it was the first so we had to document it. All in all it was a very nice warm and fun day to go up the canyon with many more to come.
