Haircut

Ouch
This picture is later on that day. It still has some of the slimy stuff on it and is no where near as red and swollen as it was. I wish I would have taken a picture when I first got home but I was in so much pain that I just took some ibuprofin, put some drops in (attempted to anyways), and took a two hour nap.
Since I am still so behind in posts, I will put the date the the events actually happened on.
Monday the 27th I was chipping away at some glued down tile in a bathroom at work. They wanted it out so they could put new stuff in. Well, while I was chipping it out, a piece hit my eye. It hurt really bad and started watering right away. I felt like I could barely open it. After a while it did not hurt as bad but still hurt and was still watering. I went on working the rest of the day. It did not water as much if I stayed inside but once I went outside it looked like I was bawling. I went home that day and did not think too much of it even though it still hurt. Then it still hurt the next day so I figured I scratched my eyeball.
Let me explain a little bit about me and eyes. I am very sensitive when it comes to eyes. I can not put eye drops in my eyes or go anywhere near touching them. I did not wear any mascara or eyeliner till I was Jr or Sr. in high school for this reason. I can not even watch Devin put in his contacts. It all freaks me out. I can handle blood just not the eye. I am weird, I know.
Anyways, I wanted to wait a few days and hope that it would heal on its own. On Wednesday I woke up and it was hurting so bad and watering like crazy. Dev pretty much begged me to go to the doctor and get it looked at. I was shaking and just about in tears (real tears) because of the thought of a doctor poking at my eye, but I was in so much pain I decided to go and at least ask them some questions. When I got there the receptionist took one look at me and said we better get you in . So I filled out the fun paper work and back to the death chair I went. He put some numbing drops in my eye and then some dye and then looked in it using blue light. He confirmed that not only did I scratch it but I still had a piece of something embedded in my eye and that is why it was still hurting so bad. He said it is a good thing I came in because it would have continued to hurt until I got this piece out. He flipped up my eyelid to look and see if there was any more, meanwhile I am freaking out that he is doing all this to my eye. He then grabs what looked like an exacto knife. When I saw that I seriously almost bolted for the door. No way did I want him scraping my eye, but then again I could not handle the pain anymore. So he started scraping my eye. Apparently that was not working because he pulled out this little drill thing. Ok, really? I just wanted to pass out. He held it up to my ear so I could hear it and told me that it sounds worse than it is, kinda like a dentist drill. Ok, really, I don't care what it sounds like! I don't want that going near my eye! He then tells me not to move or it could scratch my eye. As if I was not scarred enough as it is. So there I sat, scared out of my mind, while he is drilling at my eye to get this stupid piece of tile out. He did this for quite a while and one of the last times he did I flinched. This kinda upset him, but hello! I didn't mean to! As a side note, this guy was not very friendly. I told him I was scared to death and he didn't do much to make me feel better, he barely talked to me - no people skills what-so-ever. Anyways, we finally got it out and he gave me drops to take home that had numbing stuff in them. He also covered my eye with a bunch of slimy antibiotic stuff that melts at body temperature. Yay for me, I got to drive home with one eye closed and melting! Yeah I swerved a little here and there! I probably shouldn't have driven at all! Oh well. It took a few days for my eye to feel alright but things are good now.

memory lane

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn’t matter if you knew me a little or a lot, if we’ve actually met in person or not, anything you remember about me!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It’s actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I’ll assume you’re playing the game and I’ll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don’t want to play on your blog, or if you don’t have a blog, I’ll leave my memory of you in my comments.

4 years already

All because two people fell in love.
Look how stinking HANDSOME my husband is! June 17 was our 4 year anniversary. I know I am a bit late getting this up but life has been a little crazy. These past 4 years have had their ups and downs but I would not change any of it. I have the most wonderful husband ever who tries to do everything he can for his family. These past 4 years have just flown by and I can hardly wait to see what the future holds for us. I found some random pictures from our engagement and our wedding so I hope you enjoy.

The infamous temple wedding picture. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect. It threatened to rain a little bit but didn't, and thanks to the clouds it was not 100* out. We had the best guy perform our sealing, I will always remember and cherish that. He sat down right in front of us and counseled us on many things, it lasted over an hour! Dev's mom works in the temple, often as an escort, and has never seen a sealing take so long. I feel so grateful that we were able to get married in the temple and receive the many blessings from it.

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!

Spa!!
My mom got me and herself spa packages for Mother's Day and we went and used them this last Saturday. It was a three hour deal. I of course did not take my camera but found a few random pictures online.
We started off with 30 minutes in the sauna. It was incredibly warm but very relaxing. The sauna is very good for you letting you release the toxins out of your body.
Then we were supposed to do 30 minutes in a jacuzzi that had aroma therapy in it. The jacuzzi however was the hottest thing ever and this is coming from a person who enjoys very hot showers. It was so hot that you could only sit in it for two minutes at a time at the most, so we left that part a bit early.
Next were our facials! This was amazing. Warm towels and yummy smelling face cleansing stuff. They also do your neck, shoulders and scalp along with your face. This lasted an hour. Mom fell asleep twice during this. She even started snoring!
Then finally was the massage. This was pure heaven. It was a full body massage and this also lasted an hour. I almost feel asleep during this one even if it was sore a times. My job is physically demanding and I have been very stressed out lately so I needed this very much. Man alive if I could afford it I would get one done once a month. Seriously, pure heaven!! Thanks so much, mom, for this amazing Mother's Day present, you are the best.
I like pictures with my posts even if they are not my own. Random I know.

Happy mothers day to me
So if I am to be a little honest, I was bummed because Devin didn't give me any gifts on Mother's Day. As selfish as it sounds, I have been eyeing a picture at Deseret Book for about a month and had not been subtle about telling him that it is what I wanted. When Sunday rolled around and I didn't get anything, I was a little disappointed but ok with it, as money is kinda tight. Well, when I got home from work on Monday I had a HUGE surprise waiting for me.

He came home on his lunch break to hang it up so when I came home from work it was there in our dining area. I was in total shock and completely giddy. I still smile every time I look at it. I just think it is a beautiful and unique picture of the Salt Lake Temple. It is signed by the photographer and is #704 of 1000 and it came with that pretty black frame. As soon as Devin came home from work I ran outside and gave him a huge hug. I seriously have the best husband. Apparently he has had it for a few weeks and I had absolutely no idea because he kept asking what I wanted for Mother's Day that was not as pricey as the picture. BEST. HUSBAND. EVER.
Devin's note: She was almost expecting it on Mother's Day so I figured I'd make her sweat a little. It sucked to play it out because Tanessa, her mom, and her aunt all thought that I was a jerk because I didn't give her anything. But I am kind of a jerk, because for some reason I had it in my mind that since I had that picture, I didn't need to get anything else. I should've had at least a card to give her on Mother's Day. Either way, it is a beautiful picture that I'm sure will hang on our walls for years to come.

Which movie mom are you?

Maria Portokalos may not have been the focus of the movie, but that's the only way she would have had it. You, like Maria, are the backbone of your family, but you do it without ever wanting to be the center of attention. You know what we're talking about — your kids always seek out your well-thought-out and sincere advice, and your husband knows who really wears the pants in your house.
You consider motherhood a delicate balancing act — you're strong and tough when necessary, but it's tempered with love and respect. Fiercely loyal, you always act with your family's best interest at heart. And that's just the way you want it.

friendly visit
My friend Shauna was in town from Nevada this week so we got together with my mom and had lunch at Brick Oven. It was good to see her again since it has been awhile. I have known her since Jr. high (which is the longest I have known anyone due to moving so much) and was happy to get to spend some time with her and her little boy, Lucas (big sis kenzy was hanging out with grandma)
Traffic school

So I got pulled over a couple of weeks ago for speeding (40 in a 25) on 600 west in P.G., which is totally retarded on my part because of where I got pulled over. I know that the cops are always sitting at the little pipe office building. I pass that spot daily when go to or from work and see them poaching there quite often, so why I still speed there is beyond me. Anyways, he offered me traffic school (which I attended today) so that it would not go on my record , which I am grateful for. However, I have a big bone to pick with P.G. I am not sure if only P.G. does this or not, but I found out that you have to not only pay for traffic school (which is $60) but then you also have to pay a surcharge fee (which is $32), and then on top of all that you still have to pay the ticket (which was around $82)! I was surprised by this. A couple of years ago I went to traffic school in Provo (Devin's note: anyone see a theme here?!) and only had to pay for the class. But I guess I should not be too surprised because they will always try to get the most out of you. Needless to say, I will never speed on that road again! Man that is a pricey mistake!

Book tag
So...here's the tag:

"That's Sam-- he's nineteen," he informed me.
"What was that he was saying about the doctor's family?" I asked innocently.
"The Cullens? Oh, they're not supposed to come into the reservation." He looked away, out toward James Island, as he confirmed what I'd thought I'd heard in Sam's voice.
"Why Not?"
