Soccer

Mathias started soccer today. It was kinda a fight to get him there even though he was so excited when we signed him up a couple months back. Once he actually got out on the field though, he loved it and smiled the whole time. He did have to come off a few times for some breaks, poor kiddo was a sweating machine, but otherwise did pretty good.

Pioneer Day

Our Pioneer Day was pretty laid back this year since we are in the middle of moving. We did, however, take the night off from moving and went over to the DeGooyer's house for some fireworks. Kevin always puts on a good show. We did have the Fire Marshal people drive down our street trying to catch Kevin lighting off some illegals, but luckily a neighbor on the next street over lit one off just as they drove by the house so Kev didn't get busted.

Azlyn did pretty well with all the loud fireworks going off. She was laying on the blanket for a while talking with Mitchell and every time a firework went off she would turn her head towards me so that I would cover her top ear and her other ear was muffled by the blanket. She did this a lot. Eventually she wanted to be held but was ok if I covered her ears. She would just stare at them.

As usual, anytime the kids get to play with sparklers they just use them to try to burn what was left of the other fireworks or Pop It boxes. The girls are such pyros and Mathias is quickly following in their footsteps.

Moved

We are moving out of our Condo this weekend. We have lived here for over three years. I am pretty excited to move on but kinda sad at the same time. I am done living in an over-priced, glorified apartment; but on the other hand, it was ours. We moved in when Mathias was about 14 months old so it is the only place he has really known. However it is just time to move on. With me not working much anymore and Dev losing and switching jobs we just could not keep up with everything, so for now we are moving in with Dev's parents until we can get back on our feet. I am really grateful that we have such loving and caring family around to help us out. It is really appreciated!

swimming

We decided that we should actually use our pool while we have it and went swimming today. We have lived here for over three years and haven't really used our pool all that often ( I am one that does not love to get into a swimsuit...but am trying to get over that since both the kids love it). Azlyn just cuddled up to me in it and almost fell asleep. Mathias loved having Dev there to play around with. They would throw Mathias' sandal down to one end then race to it to see who could get it faster. He also loved it when Dev would throw him in the air.

play date

As I have mentioned plenty of times before, my mom got us season tickets to Hale Center Theater in Orem for Christmas. For this month's play date we went to Los Hermanos for dinner and then off to the play. This months play was 110* in the Shade. It was really good. It always amazes me what kind of props and things they can do with such a small stage, like they actually had it rain in there. I thought that was awesome.
I love being able to go out with the hubby every month, and for super cheap at that.

3 months

Azlyn is three months old. It is weird that we are at the point already of saying months and not weeks for her age. As usual it is going by way too fast for me. I keep telling her to slow down. It took us a while to get her and I just want to enjoy her being this small. On the other hand though I can't wait to see her reach certain milestones - like giggling, for instance.
Anyways here is a little about her at 3 months.

This is not the best picture of her but it fits her to a T for this age. She is always smiling, drooling and grabbing stuff with her hands!

Here she is with her bunny for her monthly birthday picture.

While I was trying to get the above two pictures, Azlyn noticed her bracelet. She just kept staring at it. She has pretty much worn one everyday since she came home so it was about time she noticed it I guess.

  • She is such a little drool monkey! She seriously drools a ton sometimes. It is so fun for me to see how different my kids are. Mathias never drooled unless he was teething.

  • She is getting so good with her toys. She grabs at them when you dangle them in front of her and she can hold on to them for quiet a while.

  • She is a MAJOR thumb sucker. She is now to the point to where if you try to give her her binky you just make her more upset. I think that it is cute but I don't want her to do it for too long. Makes me kinda nervous just thinking about trying to break her of this habit when she gets older.

  • She still loves her swing. Also this is about as close as Izzie kitty gets to her. I think she is kind of afraid of her.

  • She is getting so close to rolling onto her tummy. I think the only thing that is stopping her is she has always has her thumb in her mouth.

  • She hates tummy time still. She is actually getting better at tolerating it for a few minutes then she gets upset. She won't even try to lift up her head. She will lay there and either lick the blanket or suck her thumb. When she starts to get upset she gets her knees up underneath her and tries to push off with her feet. I joke with Dev that she is gonna start crawling with her head still on the floor. I also always joke that her chubby cheeks are just to heavy for her to lift.

  • This is pretty much how she always sleeps. Her knees up and her arms straight out. She also always kicks her blanket off of her.
  • She is still an awesome sleeper. Her schedule at night lately is she is usually in bed by about 9:30 and then she gets up at 6:00 to eat then back to bed till 9 and eats then back to bed till 11. Naps after that are kinda hit and miss. Someday she will take a couple 2-3 hours naps and other days she will cat nap at about 15-30 minutes at a time.
  • She still eats about every 3-4 hours during the day.
  • She has decided that she doesn't really want to take bottles anymore. She will start to take them for a minute then gets fussy but the instant I nurse her she is fine. Hopefully this won't last too long because I like the freedom of being able to go out on dates with the hubby and such plus I have a pretty good stock pile of milk in the freezer that will eventually need to get used up.

  • She is still in 0-3 month clothes. They are starting to fit better, however the bottoms (shorts, pants, skirts, bloomers) are still pretty big around the waist. More so in the jean shorts. Hopefully they will fit before it gets cold.
  • She is still in size 1 diapers
  • I weighed her on our scale this morning and it said that she weighed 12 lbs exactly.

  • She still adores her big brother. She always gives him the biggest smiles. He also loves her to pieces saying " We love sis don't we, she is the bestest girl ever!" I love watching them together. It seriously makes my day.

You might have to pause my music to hear it
Here is a short video of Azlyn cooing away. It is not the best quality because it is taken with my phone. Also the noise you hear towards the end is me receiving an email on it. Oh well it is still a cute video of her talking.

Fireworks

We actually ran out of time on the 4th so we ended up doing our fireworks tonight instead. As has become tradition, we all headed over to Kevin's house for the show.

The gang. Azlyn actually did really well and slept through most of it.

The show.

After we saw a few fireworks the kids got to do some sparklers. I think we have a few pyros on our hands. As always Mathias refused to look at me for a good pic. Oh well I guess I will take what I can get.

Snowbird

Since we all had Monday off, most of the Brower family went up to Snowbird. It was an absolutely gorgeous day! Unfortunately Mathias was still too small to do a lot of the stuff there and I had Azlyn but we still had fun walking around, being outside and being with our families. One of the perks to not being able to go on any of the things was that I got to take pictures of everything.

DeGooyer Family on the Alpine slide.

Brower Family on the Alpine slide.

Devin, Mathias and Grandma on the Alpine slide.

Everyone on the zip-line.

The girls on the rock wall.

While I was waiting for everyone to come down the Alpine slide I got a little squirrel visitor. He went right up to the stroller right next to me then climbed inside. I would shake it to get him out and he would just come right back. Definitely not afraid of people.
Azlyn did so good there. She slept 90% of the time. Mathias was pretty good as well . He must have worn himself out running around because he was sound asleep before we got down the canyon. It was such a fun time out with the family!

4th of July

The 4th of July is also Devin's dad's birthday. So we went over to their house for dinner and hung out there for most of the evening with his whole family. Sadly this is the only picture I took while we were there. Azlyn is so lucky to have so many of her cousins around. They just adore her.

Mitchel playing with Azlyn

Our family in our red, white and blue. I even painted Azlyn's toes red to match mine for the holiday. Seriously will Mathias ever get out of the stage were he never wants to take pictures? It is so frustrating to try and get a decent picture of him!

After the Brower's house we all went over to the DeGooyer's house to watch a movie in their backyard. Such a fun idea even though it was a little chilly. Who would have thought it would be that cold in July?! We watched Independence Day. I think Dev and I were the only ones who stayed awake.

LOVE my cute little family!

Provo Fireworks

We went with the Jackman family over to the Provo Temple grounds to watch the fireworks from the stadium of fire. We attempted a family pic but as usual Mathias wanted nothing to do with it. He just wanted to keep playing so this is the best shot we got.
While we waited for it to get dark we ate some pizza, played some soccer, some frisbee, the kids played with their cars and the adults chatted. Isn't the sunset beautiful!

Mathias LOVED the fireworks! He wouldn't take his eyes off of them. He is seriously so cute. Azlyn slept through the whole thing, I just made sure I kept her ears covered. The adults were not very impressed with the firework show. It didn't seem very long or big but apparently there was a lot more inside of the stadium. Either way the kids loved it and really that is all that matters. Thanks for inviting us Jackmans, it was fun to hang out!

Highland Water Park

This evening we went to the Highland water park for the first time. We went with the Brower and DeGooyer cousins. Unfortunately it was a little chilly and Mathias wasn't feeling that good so we didn't stay for to long. We will definitely have to go back soon though.

Last T-Ball Game

Today was Mathias' last T-ball game. He actually did pretty good today and participated more than the last game. When the game was over they all got little medals along with their treats. Mathias loved his medal and asked if he could wear it everywhere. Such a cute kid!

Also here are their team pictures. I just love Mathias' cheeser in both of them!

Drawing

Mathias has never been into coloring or drawing. He just doesn't sit still long enough for it. However, today he asked to get the easel out. Then a minute later showed me that he made a person. He then erased it and showed me how he made him. He wanted me to take a lot of pictures then show them to him. He has also started coloring in his coloring books. Just a bunch of scribbles but at least he is doing it. I love to watch this cute kid, he is always doing something new everyday. He sure is growing up way too fast.
