Siblings

I seriously love these kiddos so much. This is what I found when I came back from the bathroom. I love that Mathias loves his sister so much. He decided to sit on his horse, of course not the normal way, and entertain his sister. She was giving him the biggest smiles. She seriously already adores him. Mathias tells us all the time that "sis is the bestest and we love her very much." I sure hope this lasts and that they still stay the same when then get older.

Brower 4 Generations

Today went over to Devin's Grandma's house to help her move some things. I figured while we were there that I would get a four-generation picture of the Brower side since I wasn't able to get one at Azlyn's baby blessing where I got a four-generation picture from my side. I love that all of our family lives so close and are around so that we are able to do it.

School Sprinklers

We went over to the DeGooyer's house to celebrate our niece Courtney's birthday. We had some yummy dutch oven dessert in their back yard and sat and chatted for a while when the school sprinklers came on. Their backyard lines up against an elementary school and the walk way to get to it is just one house away. We noticed that Mathias disappeared but quickly saw him on the school lawn. He wanted to play in the sprinklers. Unfortunately he didn't have his swimsuit but I didn't care what he was doing as long as he was having fun and I could see him. Soon some of his cousins joined in on the fun. Once they started to get cold Kevin started up a little fire in their fire pit to warm them up and Mathias borrowed a shirt from his cousin Holland. It was such a fun night and I loved watching the kids play and having such a good time!

Jeep Ride

Today we had a couple of firsts. It was our first time taking the jeep up the canyon this year. It was Azlyn's first time in the jeep. Mind you it was just to drop her off at the Brower's house so that they could watch her for us while we went jeeping. She won't be able to go for a couple of years. I rode with her in the back on the way to drop her off. It didn't seem to phase her much and then on the way home she rode in the front and was asleep the whole way. It was also Mathias' first time jeeping in his booster seat. We did the Timpanookee trail, which was just a dirt road, but it was still so nice to get out. It was a gorgeous day with some nice views and we even saw a couple of deer. One thing I want to remember about today was what Mathias said. He told us while we were up on the trail that "sometimes I like to get out of town for a while and come up to the quiet mountains." I sure do love that kid and completely agree with him!

park

We have been spending a lot of our evenings at the park when Dev gets home. We do go during the day to but not for as long because it is so hot out and I have to lay sis on a blanket to go push Mathias on a swing and then run back and forth checking on each kiddo. It is just nicer to do it when Dev gets home so both kiddos get some attention.

Azlyn and I just chillin' on the grass. This little lady is just so stinking cute. I love to just lay with her and listen to her coo and watch her little smiling face. She is seriously such a smiley baby.

Mathias can not go to the park with out his bike and at least a couple of cars or trucks. While he is at the park he refuses to take of his helmet in case he wants to jump back on his bike. Heaven forbid he take it off and just put it back on when he wants to ride his bike. He is such a funny kid. Anyways this is typical park time with Mathias. He plays with his trucks, asks a million times to be pushed on the swings, and zooms around on his bike. It has been so nice to have a park just behind our building!

And because I just can't get enough of her cute smiley face, here are a few more pics of our cute little Azlyn.

swimming

This morning I went to take Mathias to swim lessons, however when we got there we found out that the heater in the pool was broken so they were not holding them. I figured that since Mathias was already in his swimsuit and covered in sunscreen that we would just go swimming at our place. I had to get Azlyn a swim suit first though. I hadn't gotten her one for this summer because I figured she would be too small and that I really wouldn't feel like getting into a swimsuit myself. So we went on the hunt for one for her. We tried EVERYWHERE. Old Navy didn't have a single swimsuit, Target only had ones starting at about 9 months, Children's Place had nothing in her size, neither did Crazy 8. The only two stores I could find that had ones in her size were Gymboree and Baby Gap. We ended up getting a couple at Gap. The one good thing about waiting this long was that once we found some they were half off so we got two for the price of one! Then we went and got some swim diapers. I think that they need to make an extra small size or something. The smallest size they have are 16-26 lbs. Hello, she is only about 10 1/2 lbs. We got them anyways, didn't seem like we had any other choice. Poor Mathias, by the time we were done shopping it was lunch and nap time. He was a pretty good sport though and I promised him that we would go after his nap. This actually worked out better for me because I wouldn't be by myself for too long with two kiddos, one being a newborn, at the pool. Dev got off work about a half hour after we got there.

I was trying to get a picture of Azlyn in the pool by myself. This was kinda tricky and so this is the best shot I could get. She didn't seem to mind the pool, she just kinda sat there.

She lasted about 5 minutes before falling asleep. So I put her in her car-seat under a table for some shade and got back in the pool with Mathias for a bit.

Mathias is a pretty good little fishy. The first time he gets in the pool for the summer he is kinda scared but then he quickly warms up. He "swam" all around the pool by himself and even tried to do it on his back a little, as much as the arm floaties would let him anyways.

I tried to get a few pictures of the kiddos together but not 1 turned out. This was the best one I got. I swear Azlyn's cheeks are too heavy for her to be able to lift up her head. This was after her quick nap. She did so good. I am also really trying to be better about being in the pictures with the kiddos. I am usually the one taking the pictures so there are few of me. I want to be able to look back through and have everyone be able to know I was there too. Anyways, I would have to say our first trip to the pool with two kiddos went really well!

Father's Day

I am a nerd and totally forgot to get a pic of Dev with both of the kids today. Oh well.

This fathers day was a pretty relaxing one. We went to church and when we came home we took a nap. After the nap we headed out to our park for a little while. It was such a nice day out and both the kiddos just love to be outside. After the park we headed over to Dev's dads house for a while with the rest of his family. It is so nice to have a lot of family around and to be able to hang out with them.

Happy Fathers day Dev. We sure love you and appreciate all that you do for our growing family.

Fun day

The last couple of days have been pretty busy but we have been loving it. To start the day off today we met our friend Jeri and her cute kiddos and Jackie and her baby girl at One Man Band for some breakfast. After breakfast we went to the P.G. parade. I gotta say I am beginning to not like parades. They seem to be more about advertising than they are floats and such now a days.

The kids still loved it though and had a blast getting lots of candy.

After the parade we headed over to the Jackman's house for Cohen's 3rd birthday party. As you can see it was water-themed. Mathias had a blast playing in the pools and shooting water guns. Cohen also got a little dirt bike that Mathias was so excited to try out and then told us that we need to turn his bicycle into a dirt bike. Unfortunately I didn't get a pic of the birthday boy.
I love days like these were it keeps us busy and we get to enjoy the nice weather and spend time with our friends!

P.G. Carnival

We decided to take advantage of the nice day and take Mathias to the Strawberry Days Carnival. I have to say that I think this is the last time we will be going to the P.G. one. It is more expensive than the Orem one. They do have a few things that the Orem one doesn't but I don't think it is worth the price difference.

Click on pictures to make them bigger
Mathias had a blast on all of the rides. He is such a big kid and can go on all of them by himself.

This is what sis did most of the time we were there.
It was nice to get out of the house for a bit and enjoy the nice weather.

Anniversary

Dev and I have been married 6 years today! It doesn't seem like we have been together that long but on the other hand it seems like we have been together forever. We have been through quite a bit in those six short years, good and bad. I love you so much Dev and can't wait to see what the next six years bring.
I tried to find some pics of Dev and I for every year but discovered we don't take pictures very often just the two of us.

Feb 17, 2004
This was taken the night we got engaged. Man we look young!

2004
These were taken when we were dating/engaged which for us is the same thing since we got engaged a month after meeting. Met the middle of January, engaged Feb 17 and married June 17.
The ones of us at the park and on the tramp we had my sis in law take for us because we had no pictures of us together for our wedding video. The ones were I am in a white shirt are when we were trying to pick out a picture for our wedding invites and the one were Dev is in a striped shirt we are at a wedding expo.

2004
Here are a couple of our engagement pictures. We went a couple different days and to three different locations.Needless to say we had a million pictures to choose from. Gotta love the perks of having had a photographer in the family.

2004
Here are a few bridals just because I like them.

June 17 2004
We were married at the Salt Lake City Temple. Our sealing was absolutely amazing! I will never forget the feeling in that room. Our reception was at Thanksgiving Point. It was a gorgeous day and I still love the orange and pink combination.

April 2005
We went on a Caribbean cruise with the fam.

Rodeo

Tonight we attempted the rodeo. I say attempted because we took Mathias for the first time in a couple of years. To start off, we had a couple of things going against us.
  1. Mathias didn't have a nap today
  2. The rodeo started at his bed time
  3. Mathias just does not sit still for more than 5 minutes and just really doesn't have a big attention span.
He did all right for a few minutes after him and Dev went and got him a drink. It didn't last too long and he started driving Dev crazy. These two butt heads a lot, I think it is because they are so much alike. I tried to help but I had Azlyn(Dev can't hold her for more than 5 minutes with out his back and arms hurting). So about half way through Dev took Mathias down. I thought that they would just walk around but apparently Mathias wanted to leave. I really wanted to stay for a few minutes longer to see few bull riders but forgot that they had a few more events before them. Dev called and told me that they were in the car but to stay as long as I wanted. Sis was asleep in my arms and I told Dev I will go after I see one or two bull riders . It was a fun night but I don't think we will be taking Mathias again for a couple more years, till he has outgrown naps and can sit for more than 10 minutes.

Our cute little family.

A little mutton bustin' to start things off. Mathias said he wanted to do this. We might have him try next year. I think there is an age requirement of no older than six and a weight limit of 50 pounds and under. He might be at the weight limit next year since he is already 45 pounds at 4 years old.

Then it was time for cash cows. If you don't know this is where they put money on a couple of calves and have kids chase after them to get the money.

Bucking broncos.

Calf roping.

Cow milking contest.

Barrel racing.

Team roping.

For their "halftime show" they had a lady on horse come out and a truck and trailer park in the middle of the arena. After a minute the lady and her horse got on top of the trailer and she stood on her horse. That was kinda cool but I was thinking there has to be more to it. Then all of the sudden two bison come into the arena. She started chasing them and they were like doing circles around the truck and trailer. Every once in a while a bison would hop over the truck. Then suddenly one got on top of the trailer and eventually the other one did as well. When they were both up there the lady and her horse got up there with them. I thought it was kinda cool. Didn't know you could train bison. Then the bison got off and the lady sat on her horse on the trailer as it rode off the field.

The clown was pretty funny and could actually do some pretty cool stuff on his stilts.

Of course the bull riding was the very last. This kinda amazes me. I would so not have the guts to do anything like it.

Children's Parade

To start our festivities for Strawberry Days, we went to the children's parade. Basically it is a bunch of wards and families that get together to walk around a block or two. When the walk is over, the kids get popsicles and get their hands stamped to get into the rodeo free that night. Our ward (not sure if it was just our ward or everybody) had the kids dress up as what they wanted to be when they grew up. I forgot about that till the last second so Mathias didn't dress up. It was so much fun to just get out and walk around but too bad the weather was super windy and kind of cold. Seriously, what is up with the bizarre weather we have been having? We didn't end up going to the rodeo because it was so windy and we were afraid of getting rained on.

silly boy

So this is what I saw when I came into the living room this morning. He had stacked the camping chair on top of the rocking chair. What a silly kid. It's always fun to see what this kiddo comes up with.

Wii

Since the weather has been a bit cold this weekend we opted to stay in on Friday night. The boys decided to entertain themselves by playing a jeep game and mario cart on the wii. I love watching and listening to them play these games. Mathias just gets so excited to play and that Dad will play it with him.

Orem Summerfest

Saturday we decided to brave the weather again and go to the Orem Summerfest carnival and, later on, the parade. The weather was pretty cold and like the awesome mom that I am I forgot Mathias' jacket. He didn't seem to care though, he was to busy checking everything out and riding rides.

The first and last thing we did there was check out some vehicles and helicopters. Mathias was being kinda funny though because anytime someone asked him if he wanted to get inside one of them he wouldn't go in and would act all shy and tell them that he didn't want to go in but if we were the ones asking him if he wanted to get in them and check them out then he would. Maybe he was just practicing his stranger danger or something?

Then he went on some rides. He started off on the toddler rides then we got him to go on a couple that were more for bigger kids, like the swing and the ferris wheel. He loved the swings! He was grinning from ear to ear the whole time.

He liked the ferris-wheel as long as Dev did not shake or move the seat they were in. All in all even though it was pretty cold and threatening to rain(it sprinkled for a minute while we were there) I think it is safe to say Mathias enjoyed himself and we loved watching him have so much fun.

We then grabbed some lunch and put Mathias down for his nap. When he got up we met my mom and our friend Barbara and her family at the parade. The parade was kinda lame this year. It was more about advertising than it was floats and such. It was also FREEZING! Our phones said it was 55* but it sure felt a lot colder than that. I was wearing a 3/4 length shirt, a jacket and covered in a blanker and I was still cold. What is up with this crazy weather in the middle of June? Why can't it be like 75* all the time? Anyways after the parade Mema came over and played Candy land with Mathias and then did a puzzle and then she put him to bed. It was a pretty fun day and it was nice to get out and do something as a family even if it was a cold day.

photo shoot

Azlyn and I were a little bored while Mathias was taking a nap so we decided to try and do a little 2 month photo shoot. It didn't last to long because sis didn't want much to do with it but I think I got a few fun good pictures anyways.

games 2 & 3

I promise I won't post about every game but Dev helped coach game two a little bit.

Game 2
These kids are just so darn cute!

He also coached game 3 all by himself. The regular coach was out of town for this game

Game 3
It was fun for me to see him help Mathias try to bat. Mathias once again ran to the were he hit the ball and tried to pick up his own ball. He is such a funny kid!

We learned that he probably can't coach Mathias in sports till he is a little older. Mathias just won't listen to him like he would if it were someone else coaching him, which I think is pretty normal.

You have got to love the kids attention spans. They would just play in the dirt and when Dev got them to stop that they started throwing their mits in the air. It was definitely entertaining for me to watch but probably not so much for Dev.
